The Story
Crafted by winegrowers Chad Johnson and Corey Braunel as a more accessible "little brother" to their Dusted Valley estate label, this Cabernet Sauvignon is designed to "over-deliver" on Washington State typicity. The fruit is primarily sourced from McNary Vineyard (and more recently The Cliffs Vineyard) in the Horse Heaven Hills, where cooling breezes from the Columbia River ensure a longer hang time and natural acidity. Often described as "the wine of kings and the king of wine," it balances refined cherry fruit with a "rugged," rustic complexity of freshly crushed herbs, coffee, and spice. It typically sees about 35% new French oak, adding polish to its medium-to-full-bodied structure.
