The name Borgonero is reminiscent of an ancient agricultural settlement in the Borgo Scopeto area. The Supertuscan is a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. It is aged for 18 months in barriques and 8 months in the bottle. With a deep, dark, almost impenetrable color, it exudes a rich, fine and convincing aroma of wild berries and vanilla, with hints of leather and tobacco, pepper and laurel. The taste is excellently structured, harmonious with a surprisingly soft finish.
The different varieties are fermented separately for 6 days at a temperature of 28-30 ºC. Due to the excellent quality of the skins, the wine is kept in contact with them for a further 10 days. Wine with an intense ruby colour. The aroma and taste are quite complex, due to the grapes coming from 3 sub-regions of Tuscany (Maremma, Montalcino and Chianti Classico). It has notes of fresh cherry, black fruit, spices and a light floral touch. In the mouth it is full-bodied and tasty. Long and pleasant finish.
Charged ruby. Ethereal and ample, refined and enticing, with noble aromas. Full-bodied with extraordinary structure, terrific harmony, and surprising softness.
Pair with roasts, grilled meats, truffled dishes, and aged cheese.
92 Points - James Suckling
Notes of red and dark fruit, ground spices and walnuts. Medium- to full-bodied with
tense, juicy acidity. Tannins are compact and chalky, with some mineral tension. Crunchy, long and very attractive. Drink or hold.
