The Story
The Berry Bros Benrinnes 2006 is an 17 year old Speyside single malt from the Benrinnes distillery bottled by the independent bottler Berry Bros & Rudd. This Benrinnes was distilled in 2006 and matured in bourbon hogshead 309923. It got bottled in 2023 at natural cask strength of 50.2% ABV, non chill filtered and with no added colour, as a limited single cask release of 304 bottles.
Official tasting notes:
Lucious fruits emerge on the nose of this Benrinnes diverting into boiled sweets, sherbet lemons, leather and grated Granny Smith apples. The palate is pleasingly chewy with waves of honey, oak, orchard fruit, spice and sweetened black tea. A lingering finish brings out spiced tobacco and warm honey. Chunky distillates such as Benrinnes really hit their stride in their mid-teenage years, and this is a prima example.
