The Story

A crystalline and profoundly mineral high-altitude Chardonnay, the 2015 White Stones originates from a select 27 rows within the Adrianna Vineyard. Named for the gravel-covered, oval white stones of an ancient riverbed, this wine reflects the cool-climate precision of Gualtallary. It displays a bright lemon-yellow colour and opens with an austere, sophisticated bouquet of pears, green apples, and white flowers, underpinned by flinty notes, minty sagebrush, and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and laser-focused, showcasing a vertical structure with effervescent acidity and flavors of quince, honey, and baked red apples. The finish is remarkably long and savory, defined by a mouthwatering saline minerality and crushed rock detail.

After a bit of a bumpy ride in previous vintages, the 2015 White Stones Chardonnay comes back as a phenomenal white with effervescent acidity that makes you salivate and makes the wine extremely long, providing a sensation of freshness and salty minerality. It's austere, serious and a little closed, with subtle aromas and not much fruit, as it's more about stones than grapes (pun intended!). The palate reveals a straight, vertical and laser-cut white, with a backbone of acidity that lifts it up and makes it very long. It finishes with salty flavors that linger on your palate for a very long time.
