The Story

The 2023 Domaine St. Laurent Pinot Noir is a vibrant and inviting expression of Southern Oregon’s Rogue Valley, crafted in a classic, old-world style. This vintage highlights the exuberant personality of the estate's high-elevation vineyards (up to 1,750 feet), where significant diurnal temperature swings preserve zestful acidity. It presents a bright, dark ruby color and opens with intense aromatics of raspberry, cherry, and strawberry, underscored by savory layers of mushroom and forest floor. On the palate, the wine is light-to-medium-bodied and beautifully balanced, featuring silky tannins and flavors of bright cherries and marionberries with a touch of clove and vanilla spice. Matured for nine months in French oak, it delivers a long, mineral-driven finish that reflects its complex volcanic and granitic soil terroir.

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast

This light-bodied wine was a magnificent surprise, starting with an aroma that is about the purest expression of a red raspberry that I have ever encountered with a wine. That red fruit perfume is leveraged by a saline note reminiscent of the sea and a touch of lavender. I could sit and smell this Pinot Noir all evening. The flavors are a mix of tart boysenberries and a small touch of salted black licorice. This tangy treat of a wine's texture is like gossamer, its tannins equally silky.

90 Points - James Suckling

A mild-mannered, affordable, light-bodied red with vivid red fruit and savory, leafy accents. Raspberries, strawberries, orange pekoe tea and celery-leaf flavors on a soft, non-tannic texture. Drink now.
