As is often the case when young, this wine is reserved. That said, the adjective ‘brilliant’ barely begins to capture its magnificence. It would be sheer folly to try to capture all its nuances. Among these, one recognizes the presence of dried rose petal, hoisin sauce, clove, anise, and blackcurrant, which blend beautifully with majestic, pure, and superbly intense medium-bodied flavors. These seem laden with inexhaustible reserves of dry extract, almost completely masking the tannins, which are perfectly integrated into the assertive and linear finish dominated by a fine minerality. The nose is so spectacular that you are dazzled even before tasting, and the flavors are perfectly rounded. This is possibly the best wine of the vintage, as a wine rarely reaches this level of excellence. If you can justify its price, don't miss out on this grand cru.
