The Story

Goldschmidt Vineyards Yoeman Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is a flagship single-vineyard wine that highlights the opulence and structure of the Alexander Valley’s Geyserville district. Crafted by winemaker Nick Goldschmidt, the Yoeman Vineyard is situated on a gently sloping eastern bench with gravelly loam soils, which provides excellent drainage and encourages deep fruit concentration. This 2019 vintage benefited from a long, even growing season, resulting in a wine with remarkable power and refined tannins.
On the nose, it offers an intense and complex bouquet of blackcurrant, dark plum, and violet, accented by sophisticated notes of graphite, cedar, and dark chocolate. The palate is full-bodied and velvety, showcasing layers of ripe blackberry and cassis supported by a firm, persistent structure and well-integrated oak. The finish is exceptionally long and elegant, characterized by a lingering trail of black fruit and sweet baking spices.

95 Points - Wine Enthusiast

Concentrated but polished, deep but silky, this quietly powerful wine integrates velvety tannins and gorgeous black fruit flavors. Made from old vines on a 3 acre plot, this wine will gain complexity and expand with time.

93 Points - James Suckling

Attractive and flavorful red with blackcurrants and crushed blackberries as well as cocoa, cedar and ground cloves. Full-bodied with firm tannins. Polished and refined with seamless texture and a lingering finish. Better after 2025.
