The Story
E. Guigal Condrieu is a benchmark expression of Northern Rhône white wine, widely credited with saving the Viognier grape from extinction. Sourced from 30-year-old vines grown on steep, granite-terraced slopes, this wine is celebrated for its intense aromatics and opulent texture. The bouquet is explosive, featuring signature notes of white peach, apricot, and violets, accented by hints of citrus zest and acacia honey. On the palate, it is full-bodied and unctuous, showcasing a rich, "glycerol" texture balanced by a delicate acidity and a saline minerality. Fermented and aged for approximately eight months in a combination of new oak barrels (1/3) and stainless steel (2/3), it offers a harmonious and elegant finish with long-lingering fruit and floral nuances.
