The Story

This Indian single malt gets its name ‘Indri’ from the Sanskrit word for the five senses. It was distilled and matured in northern India where it was selected from hand-picked ex-bourbon casks. The extreme temperature of the northern plains has sped-up the maturation process and has imparted notes of butterscotch, vanilla, toffee and coconut alongside tropical fruit flavours.

Dru is a cask strength expression from Indri, where selected ex-bourbon barrels are handpicked and married together by our master blender to offer you an experience that will awaken your senses. In Sanskrit, ‘Dru’ means wood, tree or a vessel made of wood. In ancient Indian mythology, Dru was a vessel in which ‘soma’ (a drink) was collected and offered to the Gods.

For me, this is an exceptional example of a rich and complex Indian whisky. I love the texture, the layers of exotic fruit flavours, the rich mouthfeel, and the fact it keeps developing the longer the whisky spends in the glass. It's one of my go-to picks for Indian whisky.
