The Story
Umbria is best known for the production of white wines made from Trebbiano and Grechetto. As is the case with many grape varieties in Italy, there is some confusion when it comes to Grechetto. It is thought to have originated in ancient Greece. There are actually two distinct varieties: Grechetto di Orvieto and Grechetto di Todi. To complicate things, most winemakers don’t specify which Grechetto they grow.
"Straw yellow with greenish reflections, it is a fresh wine with distinct citrus notes and intense hints of fruit such as peach and apple: white pulps complemented by tropical notes. It is vertical but captivating, savory, lively, clean." - Tenute Baldo
