The Story
Part of High West's limited Cask Collection series, this release highlights the distillery's exceptional blending and finishing capabilities. It starts with a base of carefully selected straight bourbon and straight rye whiskeys aged 6 to 10 years. This blend is then finished for 7 months in French oak casks that previously held Petite Sirah wine. Bottled at a robust 100 proof, the secondary maturation imparts deep, jammy fruit notes and a luxurious mouthfeel that beautifully complements the sweet and spicy whiskey core.
NOSE
Inviting aromas of spiced blackberry jam, graham cracker, and a touch of earthy bay leaf.
PALATE
Rich, thick, and mouth-coating with dominant flavors of dark plum, Concord grape, and warming cinnamon stick.
FINISH
Long and luxurious, leaving sweet notes of dried cherry, toasted oak, and sweet tobacco.
