The Story
A phenomenal, award-winning craft rye whiskey produced in Danville, Kentucky. Wilderness Trail uses a highly unique sweet mash process (rather than the traditional sour mash) and a remarkably low barrel entry proof, which yields a much softer, more grain-forward profile. Aged to the strict standards of the Bottled-in-Bond Act and bottled at exactly 100 proof, this rye delivers an incredibly complex harmony of bright, floral spice and deep, jammy fruit.
NOSE
Bright, floral, and highly inviting. Aromas of fresh mint, clove, sweet dark fruit, and toasted oak.
PALATE
Rich, velvety, and spice-forward. A rush of peppery rye grain and cinnamon is perfectly balanced by dark cherry, vanilla cream, and rich caramel.
FINISH
Long, crisp, and exceptionally warming with a lasting trail of herbaceous spice.
