The Story
Still Austin Bottled in Bond Straight Rye (Spring 2026) is the fourth and latest annual rendition of this seasonal release, meticulously crafted by Master Distiller John Schrepel to be his "best work" on this specific mash bill yet. Represented by the rabbit on its custom Marc Burckhardt label, this "Spring" expression is designed to capture the bright spice and "new beginnings" of the season. Distilled from 100% Texas-grown Brasetto rye, it follows strict Bottled-in-Bond regulations—aged at least four years, distilled in a single season, and bottled at exactly 100 proof. The 2026 release continues the distillery's signature "slow water reduction" (elevage) technique, gradually reducing the barrel proof over the final year of maturation to achieve a remarkably velvety mouthfeel and enhanced fruit-forward depth that belies its four-year age statement.
