The Story
A masterpiece of whiskey archeology and the oldest release ever from the historic Three Chamber Still project! To create this spirit, Leopold Bros. painstakingly re-engineered a massive, three-story copper still—a design that hadn't been used in the US since before Prohibition—specifically to extract heavy oils and botanical esters that modern column stills simply cannot capture. Distilled from rare, heritage Abruzzi Rye and floor-malted barley, this 8-year-old expression has rested in a dunnage-style earthen floor warehouse, allowing the wood to integrate perfectly with the rye’s naturally viscous texture. Bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV), it represents the pinnacle of the "Revivalist" movement in American whiskey.
NOSE
Extraordinarily complex and "green." Powerful aromas of floral honey, lavender, and chamomile are layered over deep notes of orange marmalade, cocoa nibs, and toasted hazelnut.
PALATE
Incredibly thick and oily—the hallmark of the Three Chamber Still. Lush flavors of candied apricot and peach nectar meld with rich rye bread, manuka honey, and a fascinating, earthy "musty barn" funk.
FINISH
Exceptionally long and resinous. The oily texture coats the throat, leaving a trail of dried dark fruits, herbal tea, and a refined, peppery rye spice that lingers for minutes.
